MTS to QuickTime MOV conversion for editing in iMovie or playing on Mac
Source From: Brorsoft
Hi! I'm new in Mac. I have a MacBook Pro and a Panasonic digital camera that films great HD videos in MTS format. I know that Quicktime Player and iMovie don't support MTS videos, but is there any program to convert the videos to a supported format that can be able to watch and edit MTS videos with them?? Thanks in advance!! PS: I downloaded VLC Player and it works fine, but I would like to use Mac aplications...
From above ISSUE we can know the user want to edit MTS in iMovie and watch MTS on QuickTime Player. But iMovie don't support MTS on his or her Mac. In our daily life, we can get many MTS files from Canon/Sony/Panasonic camcorders like Sony NEX-F3, Panasonic HC-X900, etc. Do you also try to watch and edit MTS files on your Mac as the above user want- play MTS on QuickTime Player or edit MTS in iMovie on Mac?
As we know, QuickTime Player and iMovie are all from Apple Company and they all surpport QuickTime MOV format. So if you want to both edit MTS recordings in iMovie and watch MTS videos on QuickTime Player, you only need to convert MTS to QuickTime MOV on your Mac. You can get the best Mac MTS to QuickTime Converter which enables you to convert mts/m2ts files to QuickTime .mov on Mac. Plus, it supports batch conversion, so you can import and convert several multimedia files at a time. What’s more, this MTS Converter for Mac can help you to transcode AVCHD to Apple ProRes, Apple Intermediate Code(AIC), etc that means you can convert MTS to FCP, FCE, iMovie, etc faster and easier with the best output video.
Guide: Convert MTS to QuickTime for iMovie and QuickTime Player on Mac
Step 1: Launch the MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac and load the MTS/M2TS files to it.
Tip: If you wanna join several MTS/M2TS files, please check the "Merge into one" box.
Step 2: Click on Format > Common Video > MOV- QuickTime(*.mov) that is Apple QuickTime format as well as friendly for iMovie. Then you can set the output folder as you want.
Note: To get a better output, you can click the Setting icon to customize the video/audio parameters including video size, bitrate, frame rate, etc.
Step 3: Click the Convert button; the MTS to QuickTime .mov conversion will start on Mac immediately.
When the conversion process shows in 100%, click the Completed button and then get the MOV video from output folder. Now, you can freely play MTS to QuickTime Player and edit MTS in iMovie on Mac without any trouble.
