Importing Sony Handycam camcorders (such as HDR-PJ580V, HDR-CX260V, HDR-GW77V, HDR-XR260V, HDR-PJ760V, and more) AVCHD videos to FCP, FCE, or iMovie editing on mac isn't as hard as you may think, You don't need years of experience about video editing software on mac, just 4 steps to convert Sony Handycam AVCHD to MOV format which is widely used on Mac.
I used Brorsoft Sony AVCHD Converter for Mac to relize it. It can help me to convert Sony Handycam 1080p AVCHD videos to Mac video editing programs natively support format with the optimal presets: Apple InterMediate Codec (AIC) for iMovie/FCE, Apple ProRes for FCP and more on Mac OS X.
Guide: Import videos from Sony Handycam 1080p to Mac for iMovie/FCP/FCE editing.
